Pleasant Bay Village Resort is listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the National Historic Preservation Act (16 U.S.C. 470 et seq.) or is designated as historic under State or local law (§ 36.405 Alterations: Historic preservation.). Thus, we are not able to offer handicap accessible accommodations since such alterations would destroy the historical significance of the property.
However, we are committed to doing whatever we reasonably can to make our property accessible.
One of our Front Deluxe Efficiency Studios is the accommodation choice that we have designated as accessible. It has a level entrance way to the room and the bathroom has some accessible features such as an extra wide door, extra grab bars around the toilet and in the shower, removable shower seat, as well as a wheelchair accessible vanity/sink.
On our property we have a ramp with handrails up to our lobby. In the lobby building where the front desk and restaurant are located, there are two fully compliant ADA bathrooms (one for men, one for women). These meet the width requirements to be accessible with a wheelchair and have ADA approved sinks, faucets, lighting controls, toilets, and grab bars. Brochures and local publications are located in accessible locations, and there is a table in the breakfast room specifically reserved for someone with a disability – no steps are required for service at this table. Plans are in place to have an ADA parking space with an adjacent aisle for loading and unloading.
We also have all of our handicap accessible features listed on the ADA Property Features section of our Amenities page.
